Jaffabox Ltd has a simple philosophy – yet one which is so important to customers -

"To produce quality products, delivered on time, at a competitive price"

Jaffa’s origins go back to 1946,when Louis Jaffa began selling boxes as a private trader. In 1978 the current owners bought the business from Mr Jaffa and formed Jaffa Cartons Limited. During these early years Jaffa operated from premises in Kings Heath Birmingham. The company had limited manufacturing capability at that time and were primarily involved in recycling of cardboard boxes.

This changed with the rapid expansion of the business over the next few years and it became necessary to move to new purpose-built premises at Cato Street Nechells in order to expand manufacturing operations. Further expansion in box manufacturing and the need to install new machinery resulted in another move in 1988 to a new custom built 35,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution centre at Devon St Nechells.

The continued expansion of the business throughout the 1990’s went hand in hand with further investment in new box making machinery, delivery vehicles, computerisation and waste management systems.

In 1998 the directors of Jaffa took on the challenge of moving the business forward into the new millennium by approving a multi-million pound investment programme.

During 1999 this resulted in the purchase of the latest state-of-the-art computer set box making machinery and the building of a new 100,000 sq ft factory on a five-acre green field site adjacent to Birmingham International Airport close to the NEC.

Conscious of the need to reduce waste and its effects on the environment, Jaffa have continued its box recycling operations and have also installed at the new premises the most up to date waste handling system. This ensures that all cardboard waste is collected for recycling , any dust particles are removed and during winter the warm purified air is piped back into the building to provide a reduction in the overall energy required for heating.

Early in 2000 the company’s name was changed to Jaffabox Ltd to match it’s internet registered name, bringing it right up to date and e-commerce ready for the new millennium.

Jaffabox are recognised within the industry as being a progressive forward thinking company with one of the most modern box manufacturing plants in the country. The changes made over the years to keep pace with technology improvements has been one of the factors in attracting new customers, many of which are large UK companies who are household names in manufacturing, distribution and publishing.

Fortunately one thing has never changed, the Jaffabox philosophy – "To produce quality products, delivered on time, at a competitive price."
